Our Music Club at the new ‘urban village green’ under the A13 flyover at Canning Town on 5 August 2013.

The Together! Music Club begins again on Friday 3 February 2017.

The Music Club takes place on the first Friday of each month from 7-9pm at Vicarage Lane Community Centre, Govier Close, Stratford London E15 4HW (see Locations page for further details).  The Club is FREE and no booking is necessary, just turn up on the day.

The Music Club plays and enjoys a wide range of music, from Beyonce to the Beatles, from traditional music to original compositions. No experience is necessary, we welcome all disabled people and their companions who enjoy playing or listening to live music. There are percussion instruments available for everyone who wants to play along, and each Club night we also learn some songs together. We particularly welcome performers who wish to try out new material, or are returning to performing after a break, or who want to perform in front of an audience for the first time.

The Music Club also organises special projects. In July 2014 we participated in Newham Carnival, following a Carnival workshop with Diane Artis. In August 2014, David Jackson of Tonewall led a two-day soundbeam and switch workshop culminating in an improvised performance of Titanic!, with funding from Arts Council England. Over the winter of 2014 we created 12 over-sized percussion instruments from recycled construction materials for installation in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the last weekend of the February 2015 half-term, as part of the Park’s Local Programme. In August 2015 we held a Sea Shanty Day with guest artists Anna Cornish and Pete Truin. In August 2015 we also recorded original compositions by four of our members, MC Survivor, Angus MD, Janice Weir-Germia and Dwain Bryan, produced by Robin Surgeoner MBE aka Angry Fish. Music Club members are now performing regularly in East London and beyond.
