The Art Club meets on Tuesdays & Fridays from 10am to 12 noon at St Bart’s Centre, 292b Barking Road, East Ham E6 3BA. Nearest station East Ham (not accessible, but there are direct buses from Canning Town station or Beckton DLR). Bus routes include: 5 and 115. Street parking for Blue Badge users only. NB: there is a Changing Places toilet close by at East Ham Leisure Centre. On Tuesdays we focus on Applied Arts, learning inclusive craft techniques together that can also be used within fine art practice. On Fridays the focus is on finding an individual’s creative voice through Drawing and Painting, where experimenting is encouraged. We are usually venue-based, but also make visits to different parts of the borough to draw and paint outside.
The Art Club is led by Clubs Programme Leader Alison Marchant with the assistance of other mid-career artists and volunteers. As with all Together! activities, the Art Club is FREE and materials are provided (although participants are also welcome to bring their own materials in on a Friday). Further information is available on the main Clubs page.
