ParaCarnival 2 December 2017

Paracarnival parade through Stratford Centre and perform in the Cultural Quarter on 2 December 2017 to celebrate International Day of Disabled People.

ParaCarnival are based in East London and create inclusive Carnival Arts based on Brazilian culture for disabled and socially excluded people. Their workshops include dance, signed song and costume-making, with the support of Brazilian guest artists and a partner organisation in Brazil.

In August, ParaCarnival delivered weekly workshops as part of the Summer Together! 2017 programme before participants paraded with Hackney Carnival in September. Performers on 2 December included members of Act Up! Newham, Powerhouse Women and Starpad DJs.

Below you can view a 12:41min highlights video, or 3min videos featuring the songs One Love and Good to be me.

Many thanks to Stratford Circus for dressing room facilities.
