For the second year we will be implementing the ‘F’ rating system when we publish our final programme – one ‘F’ each for a Female (self-defined) writer, director central character(s) or focus. We also use our own ‘D’ rating system – one D each for a Deaf/Disabled (self-defined) writer, director, central character(s) or focus. We look forward to Film Festivals worldwide taking this system up with the same enthusiasm that they have greeted the ‘F’ system. If your entry is successful, we will be asking you to F and D rate your film too.

If your film is selected, this information will be used in the programme as below.

Hear Me Out. Jason Boberg. New Zealand. 2018. 3:26. European Premiere. Mojo Mathers, Aotearoa’s first deaf MP, has one last chance to open the door for people with disabilities to fully participate in democracy. Democracy isn’t always democratic, and even the best governments struggle to be truly inclusive. Mojo Mathers knows from what it is to have to fight to enjoy the rights most people take for granted. With her Bill before parliament, Mojo must continue to fight in order to ensure a political future of equal representation for New Zealanders with disabilities. In English, with English captions and audio-description.
