Return of the Together! Pop-Up Poetry Café

Filmed on Zoom and live-streamed to YouTube on 26 November from 7-8pm, the return of the Together! Pop-Up Poetry Café brings together guests from Survivors’ Poetry with poets from the Together! Pop-Up Poetry Club. Join us with your own food and drink and enjoy an hour of live poetry from diverse Disabled and Deaf artists to celebrate Disability History Month 2020 and 25 years since the Disability Discrimination Act.

Feel inspired? The Together! Pop-Up Poetry Club is free for Disabled people and meets weekly on Wednesday mornings to read, write and perform poems. We currently operate as a phone-based group (we call you and we pay). The Club and the associated Café was originally funded by People’s Health Trust. Participants currently perform at Zoom Together! open mic sessions on the first Thursday of each month.

Survivors’ Poetry has been established for many years as the UK’s ground-breaking poetry movement led by Survivors of the mental health system. Usually based at the Poetry Café in Covent Garden, Survivors’ Poetry now hosts a  Lockdown Lounge on Zoom, bringing together experienced poets and musicians with emerging artists, now from across the world as well as London.Screenshot of the Zoom
