The History Makers

The Together! 2020 Disability History Month Festival opening event is now over, but you can view the live recording above and read the speeches here.

This year we began by remembering the artists whom we have lost, with tributes created in association with Carnival organisation Callaloo Arts to Rob da Noize Temple of Krip Hop Nation, Lyn Levett of Paraorchestra, Lloyd M. Macauley of Sign Dance Collective International, Geof Armstrong of Arcadea, Chris Levett of the University of the Atypical, and David Toole of Candoco. Our tributes included digital and physical Muertos Ofrendas in the tradition of the Mexican Day of the Dead Festival, and Callaloo Arts have created a range of inclusive, no-cost resources to enable you to make a Muertos Ofrenda at home.

Commemorative performances included Sign Dance Collective International live from Croatia featuring a video performance from Lionel M. Macauley & the following:
