Together! 2021 Disability History Month Festival, inspired by 2012. 11 November to 9 December 2021. A month of inclusive Dance, Drama, Exhibitions, Music, Poetry and discussions, all free and from the comfort of your own home. Includes the international Together! 2021 Disability Film Festival 3-5 December. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and Arts Council England.FESTIVAL CALENDAR

All events are free; take place online (by Zoom, with most events also live-streamed to YouTube); and have BSL interpretation and live captioning.

7-8pm Thursday 11 November 2021. OPENING EVENT. Together! 2012 Artistic Director Dr Ju Gosling is joined by Colin Hambrook, Disability Arts Online (DAO) Editor, to talk about Disability and visual art online as we launch the Together! 2021 Open Exhibition and new exhibitions by Vince Laws and Duncan Bridgstock.

7-8pm Tuesday 16 November 2021. International dance company Signdance Collective presents a home-based performance of Oriente Plus.

7-8pm Thursday 18 November 2021. Having a Laugh. New women’s comedy from home with Cheryl Mclennan and Helena Ascough, introduced by Together! 2012 Chair Julie Newman.

2.30-4pm Monday 22 November 2021. Sign Poetry Workshop with DL Williams (for BSL and other Sign users). Participants will be supported to perform their work at the Together! 2012 Pop-Up Poetry Café on Thursday 2 December from 7-8pm.

7-8pm Tuesday 23 November 2021. Act Up! Newham presents a new Zoom-based drama, and discuss how their work as an inclusive community theatre company has developed as a result of the pandemic.

10.30am-4pm Wednesday 24 November 2021. Finding Solutions Together! Delivering inclusive festivals and outdoor events in the age of Covid-19. A free conference on Zoom for event organisers, Disability Arts workers and everyone who is interested in improving inclusion (event management students welcome).

7-8.30pm Thursday 25 November 2021. Hera presents ‘We ask these questions of everybody’, a digital opera reflecting the experiences of Universal Credit claimants. The opera is followed by a discussion with some of the cast, chaired by our Artistic director Dr Ju Gosling.

7-8pm Tuesday 30 November 2021. Sahera Khan presents No Words, No Safety, a new one-woman show about Deaf and Disabled women and community safety. The event includes a discussion where the audience can join in via Live Chat. In BSL with English interpretation and English captions.

7-8pm Thursday 2 December 2021. The Together! 2012 Pop-Up Poetry Café returns, compered by Ju Gosling with an Open Mic.

6pm Friday 3 December – 8pm Sunday 5 December 2021. Together! 2021 Disability Film Festival. The Film Festival programme will be released in November.

7-8pm Tuesday 7 December 2021. Electric cellist Jo-anne Cox presents her Define Your Journey project from her home studio with a performance and discussion. 

7-8pm Thursday 9 December 2021. END OF FESTIVAL PARTY. Live music from Robin Surgeoner aka Angry Fish and some of the musicians who have previously been featured on Together! 2012 CIC’s livestreams.
