Being Marcus

DD.  Marcus Pabon-Lara loves swimming but is too self-conscious to take off his top in public.  Will a mastectomy give him the body confidence needed to go for his first swim since he was a teenager?  This observational documentary, which provides an honest insight into the experiences of a Deaf trans man, follows self-proclaimed “proud geek” Marcus during the lead up to his much-anticipated operation.  Along the way, we meet his friends and his mother, finding out more about Marcus and how he feels about his transition. Fraser Syndrome and Me

Fraser Syndrome and Me. Kyle Anne Grendys. USA. 2018. 20m. In English with English captions. FFF. DDD. Fraser Syndrome & Me is the movie filmmaker Kyle Anne Grendys needed growing up. As the 75th person to be born with Fraser Syndrome she needed to know that she wasn’t as alone as she felt. Her family needed to know that there were others out there going through the same journey as them. That yes, it is going to be a long and sometimes difficult road, but there is hope. Through lots of traveling Kyle Anne and her family meet their community and find out they feel more like family. She wasn’t nearly as alone as she thought.
