Our Carnival Arts programme with Emergency Exit Arts in July was a big success with the support of the Big Lottery. Click here to read the Pop-Up Poetry Club’s Carnival poems. Thanks to the generous support of Arts Council England, Together! 2012 CIC was then in residency from 1-31 August 2016 at the Grassroots Centre, Memorial Park, Memorial Avenue, West Ham, London E15 3BD. We then organised a showcase tent at the Liberty Festival on 3 September, National Paralympic Day, in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with the additional support of London Legacy Development Corporation. Monday 1 August 2016: Together! Music Club 7-9pm Open Mike. Bring your own instruments or use ours. A great opportunity to rehearse for the Together! 2012 tent at the Liberty Festival on 3 September 2016. Contact Together! 2012 CIC for details of further rehearsal opportunities.
Wednesdays 3 August, 10 August, 17 August, 24 & 31 August 2016 10.30am-12 noon: Together! Pop-Up Poetry Club. We will be writing poems in response to Memorial Park, and finding creative ways to share these within Grassroots and the Park.
Fridays 5, 12, 19 & 26 August 2016 2-4pm: Together! Art Club We will be creating drawings, paintings and installations in response to the Park, and exhibiting these within Grassroots and the Park.
Wednesday 31 August 2-4pm: Not-So-Private View at Grassroots & Memorial Park of the work created plus a preview of our street art project. FREE. ALL WELCOME.
* We welcome people with mobility and sensory impairments, people with learning difficulties, people with long-term health conditions and people with mental health difficulties, together with family and friends, carers and support workers.
On Saturday 3 September 2016 we will be showcasing the talents of locally based disabled artists at the Together! 2012 tent at the Mayor of London’s Liberty Festival in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from 1-6pm. FREE. All welcome. Thanks to the London Legacy Development Corporation and Arts Council England for their support.
