Art Club

The Art Club is FREE and meets on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11am-12noon on Zoom, led by Clubs Programme Leader Alison Marchant with the assistance of other mid-career artists and volunteers.

Tuesdays are craft-based ‘Make and Natter’ sessions. Alison leads an inclusive craft activity that can also be used within fine art, using things you already have at home. You are also welcome to work on your own craft project within the sessions.

On Fridays we focus on drawing and painting, which is a more mindful session. Alison creates a still-life image for participants to interpret in their own voice, using whatever art materials you already have at home, including pencils, biros, crayons, felt tip pens, pastels and paints. Alison shares the image over Zoom and audio-describes it; we can also send you the image via text, email or WhatsApp if that is more accessible. Each week we also share the still-life image on social media for you to do in your own time.

Art Club participants are further supported with personalised support to continue working at home outside of Club sessions.

For people without Zoom access, there are a range of inclusive art- and craft-based activities on our Join in from Home page.
