2014 Disability Film Festival

5-7 DECEMBER 2014

The third annual Together! Disability Film Festival is FREE and takes place at the Old Town Hall Stratford from 5-7 December 2014 (see Locations for further venue details; no need to book). Presented in association with 104 Films and Film on Film Entertainment, the festival is supported by Arts Council England, C4, Trinity Buoy Wharf, Countryside Properties and the London Borough of Newham and takes place as part of the Together! Disability History Month free festival (19 November-15 December 2014).

We are delighted to announce the 2014 programme, bursting full of premieres, special guests and films made over the past 18 months (full details of the films, and links to online versions, are published daily – see below).

Saturday 6 December 12noon-1.30pm: ‘Cripping up’ or creative right? Join disabled and non-disabled filmmakers at the Old Town Hall Stratford to discuss their perspectives on Disability Film and casting disabled actors. Refreshments provided.

FRIDAY 5 DECEMBER

6pm: A Life Worth Living, introduced by Jon Hastie and Annie Perkins, followed by The Other Dreamers. No ordinary road movie, A Life Worth Living (2012, first public screening) is a fun, inspiring, poignant and surprising rock ‘n roll journey that takes us into the lives of guys who, against all the odds, show us just how valuable life is. The Other Dreamers (2013, UK Premiere) is a story of children who want to prove to the world that they are exactly like everyone else, and even better. 6pm:  Little Devil  (2013, UK Premiere). A feature length comedy-drama film set in East London about unconventional friendships, starring Sam Renke. A mischievous, disabled fag hag absconds to London to find love and opportunity, but finds an unlikely outcome in her life when she hooks up with a washed-up gay male escort.
